So, she can call someone out on their perversion in the series, but can't call someone out on their perversion in the manga? Because that's what she did. She called out shinji, saying he'd be a pervert enough to molest her. As for the tease, it was funny, wasn't slutty. It showed the cruel part of Asuka's personality, and the funny. And if it was slutty, then what about the IMMENSE amount of fanservice she had in that single episode? The kiss worked great, the removal of the after battle accusations didn't hurt a THING. The father issue doesn't water Asuka's problems down, it creates new ones.

Yes, my greatest complain against Sadamoto is that he didnt let Asuka go. Because he lost a grip of her character and most important her relationship with Shinji he should have just left her out of the ending, yet now it seems the manga is still going the anime way which means Asuka will be given an important place in the story which looks forced and unexplainable as her character was never developed enough to have any deeper relationship with any characters thus Shinji's almost possesive attitude looks out of place. She may be his friend but not more while the way he starts reacting towards her imply that there is more, but then the question is where was such relationship developed - the answer is nowhere. Sadamoto is just important scenes from anime but with the changes the characters had (most notable ones are Asuka, Shinji, Kaworu) it is a very bad decision.

I think this is the explanation for Sadamoto's latest one year sabbatical from the manga -- after totally rewriting the hospital scene to have Asuka launch out of her bed-ridden state to start strangling Shinji, he is now stuck, like Shinji, under that stairway, with the inevitable doom creeping up on him.

But after having changed a scene where a forlorn young woman was still hoping against hope that she had been partnered with a man, and not a little boy, and turning it into a shallow cock-tease, it was clear that he had misread the character from the beginning.

I have this recurring nightmare where Sadamot actually finishes the manga; only he does a champloo-esque mixture of the live action sequence where Shinji feels relief that both Asuka and Toji are ok, but of course, since it's Sadamoto, he is following the whole gang, except for Hikari, of course, since Sadamoto will JUST have to pair Asuka with Toji to make it more obvious that Shinji and Rei truly are destined to be in the manga, and Rei truns around filling Asuka's void of the woman who resents Shinji not being real the most.

This will f course be followed by the 10 minute AU short exactly as is with a voice over from Shinji where he comes to a catharsis and in the real world he decides to give Lilith (not Rei) the finger and go back to the real world; then we see an image of Shinji hunched over, probably echoing the wooden crosses (maybe kicking down the one marked Asuka, maybe simply breaking down in front of it and sobbing) while the last scene is of a human body washed ashore, closing up on the gloved hand of a plug suit, but never out right spelling who it is.
Or maybe it was just some bad sushi and Shinji wakes up to normal AU life thinking "that was such a weird dream >_<"

Whatever. You're ALL obsessed with anno and his Asuka. Which is funny, since Anno himself said that the work is incomplete, unfinished, and flawed. So, why is it wrong, even if Sadamoto is creating a different Asuka, for him to change it? Otaku at their worst.
