Sorry to say it's par for the course on the internet these days. I don't think this place is especially bad.

ANY place where people can post their opinions behind anonymity, they are just as likely to be mean and trolling. I do think /A/ is a tougher crowd than /rei/, but it's just usual /b/tard crap.

Adding to the problem, there are A LOT of people who DESPISE all forms of cosplay with few or no exceptions. Give those people anonymity and the gloves come off :(
